Apple PowerMac G4 Cube
The G4 Cube is one of Apple's most innovative designs - all the power of a PowerMac in a 10" x 8" x 8" box.
In terms of its intended users it is pitched somewhere between the iMac and the PowerMac G4. Like the iMac, it lacks the expandability of a PowerMac, having no PCI slots and only half size AGP slots.
However, unlike the iMac you can upgrade the G4 Cube's processor with the same ranges of upgrades as for the PowerMac G4 from Sonnet and PowerLogix. And, obviously, since it doesn't have the iMac's built in monitor, it gives you much more flexibility in that area as well.
If you are looking for a machine you can add PCI cards to, or want to easilly be able to upgrade the graphics card past the standard 16MB ATI Rage 128 pro, then you should probably look at the PowerMac G4 AGP Graphics.
However, if you are looking for a Mac that can fit in limited desk space and has the WOW factor in abbundance, while still having a serious amount of computational power, the Apple G4 Cube is probably just what you are looking for.
Please note that the Cube uses USB speakers for its sound output which are not included unless specifically stated.
